Box Rest, Recuperation and Rehabilitation for Horses

Updated: May 15, 2021

Our facilities at The Equine Therapist

We understand that it is not always possible for horse owners to provide box rest when needed for their horses if they have sustained an injury or need time to rest and recuperate. This may be because of lack of stabling facilities or just the necessary time to manage it. We are pleased to offer this option as part of our range of services.

We have a small, secure yard in the Shropshire countryside complete with loose boxes and post and rail turnout with field shelters if needed. Our facilities also include a Monarch horse walker that allows controlled exercise for horses on box rest. Whilst with us, your horse will be looked after by Clare who provide loving care to our "visitors". Each horse is treated on an individual basis and Clare will follow any instructions from your vet to ensure a successful recovery.

Our full range of treatments if needed are also available including:

  • McTimoney-Corley Spinal Therapy

  • Merishia Massage

  • Low Level Laser Therapy

  • Magnetic and Cyclo-Ssage Therapy.

  • Hot and Cold Therapy

  • ARC Microcurrent Therapy

Exercise therapy on the horse walker is a large part of the rehabilitation process and can be used in conjunction with manual therapy such as mobilisation of joints and soft tissue.
